Finnair Traffic Performance in June 2013

In June, Finnair traffic measured in Revenue Passenger Kilometres rose by 8.3 per cent and the overall capacity grew 6.0 per cent year‐on‐year. Passenger load factor improved by 1.8 percentage points and was 83.3 per cent.

In June, the capacity in Asian traffic grew by 2.9 per cent and the traffic measured in Revenue Passenger Kilometres by 6.8 per cent year‐on‐year.

In April-June, the unit revenue* per available seat kilometre declined by 3.7% year‐on-year, and was 5.61 euro cents.

“Our new seasonal routes to Xian and Hanoi have started off according to our expectations and both have been very well received by our customers” says Finnair CFO Erno Hildén. “Despite the positive load factor development, unit revenue for the second quarter declined slightly year‐on‐year, mainly reflecting the weakening of Japanese Yen.”

In June, leisure traffic measured in Revenue Passenger Kilometres grew by 0.5 per cent and capacity decreased by 1.9 per cent. The load factor improved by 2.2 percentage points and was 92.2 per cent.

In cargo, traffic measured in revenue tonne kilometres grew by 1.7 per cent and the overall capacity decreased by 4.8 per cent year-on-year. The load factor improved by 4.5 percentage points and was 71.6 per cent.

In June, the arrival punctuality improved year-on-year and it was excellent. In Scheduled traffic, 90.5 per cent of flights arrived on schedule (87.7). Of all traffic, 90.2 per cent (87.5 per cent in June 2012) of flights were on schedule.
