In July, Finnair traffic measured in Revenue Passenger Kilometres rose by 5.7 per cent as the overall capacity grew 2.7 per cent year‐on‐year. Passenger load factor improved by 2.4 percentage points and was 84.5 per cent.
Traffic measured in Revenue Passenger Kilometres grew in all traffic areas apart from Domestic traffic. Traffic grew the most in Europe and in North Atlantic. Asian traffic measured in Revenue Passenger Kilometres increased by 2.6 per cent year‐on‐year.
“The cabin load factors improved notably in all traffic in July. In Europe, the load factor rose by almost 7 percentage points. Leisure traffic also grew significantly from last year, ” says Finnair CFO Erno Hildén.
In July, leisure traffic measured in Revenue Passenger Kilometres grew by 21.9 per cent, as capacity grew by 18.3 per cent year-on-year. The load factor improved by 2.9 percentage points and was 95.7 per cent.
In cargo, traffic measured in revenue tonne kilometres grew by 2.5 per cent. The load factor rose by 1.1 percentage points and was 67.1 per cent.
In July, the arrival punctuality was excellent and it improved notably year-on-year. In scheduled traffic, 90.8 per cent (80.2 per cent in July 2011) of flights arrived on schedule, 90.6 per cent (79.0 per cent) in all traffic.
