Flybe announces new Dusseldorf service from Cardiff Airport

Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, has today announced that it will add weekly flights from Cardiff to Düsseldorf to its summer schedule, with one way fares from £39.99 including taxes and charges available for booking now at www.flybe.com.

The weekly service will operate on Saturdays between 25th April and 3rd October using one of Flybe’s 88-seat Embraer 175 jet aircraft.

Flybe’s Chief Commercial Officer, Paul Simmons said: “We look forward to this new Saturday service being well used for travel between Wales and Düsseldorf. It will open up a convenient gateway into the country and help contribute to the local tourism economy from this important Rhine-Ruhr economic region as well as provide direct and convenient access to this key destination on the Rhine River, with lots to do and see in and around the area for leisure travellers.”

Spencer Birns, Cardiff Airport’s Aviation Business Development Director, added: “We’re very pleased that one of our current airlines, Flybe, recognises the potential that comes from having an air link between Wales and Germany. This link not only adds to the direct destinations from Cardiff, but brings with it some great potential for inbound tourism into Wales from Germany.”
