Flybe steps in to reinstate key route from Jyväskylä - Helsinki

Airline to operate up to three return flights a day between Jyväskylä and Helsinki from October 30th. With this newly announced route, Flybe’s network now features 25 routes across the Nordic and Baltic region

Finland’s newest airline, Flybe, is stepping in to continue flying the key service between Jyväskylä and Helsinki from October 30th with up to three return flights a day. One way fares are from 39 euros including taxes and charges and are available for booking now at www.flybe.fi. The decision follows Finnair’s withdrawal from the route.

Flybe understands that maintaining this route from Central Finland is very important to business

Mike Rutter, Managing Director Flybe Europe comments: “Flybe has a history of stepping in to support regional economies and ensuring continuation of such key life-line routes. We are pleased to be able to step in to make sure that those needing to fly between Jyväskylä and Helsinki are not left without a quick and affordable travel option.

“The schedule for our new Jyväskylä – Helsinki service has been created to offer maximum convenience for time-saving point-to-point travel, offering direct access via the capital to and from the rest of the world.”

In welcoming the announcement, Markku Andersson, Mayor of Jyväskylä, commented: “We are very happy that flights to Jyväskylä, which are crucial for commerce, industry, the international operations of our university and conferences, can be ensured and that they will now continue without interruption.”
