Four Sukhoi Superjet 100 Back in Operation

Commercial flights of four Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft operated by air carriers will be resumed by the end of February. At the moment the aircraft is being improved based on service bulletins issued earlier. The first two will be entered into service by the end of this week, the rest – by the end of this month.

Pursuant to the contract concluded between the air carrier and manufacture in case of grounding due to technical reasons JSC “Sukhoi Civil Aircraft” compensates to the airline financial loss incurred per each day of grounding.

As it was reported earlier, during Sukhoi Superjet 100 commercial operation there were erroneous leakage detection system engagement, slat extention fault and landing gear up fault detected.

Sukhoi Superjet 100 commercial operation was started in April 2011.

First two years of commercial operation of any aircraft type diagnose design deficiencies. They are isolated and service bulletin is issued for all fleet under operation. Aircraft at the plant are improved during production process.

According to the terms of the contracts signed if there is any fault at any SSJ100 detected, it is eliminated together by the manufacturer, the supplier and the carrier representative.

SSJ100 type design corresponds to the aviation rules and regulations requirements and that is verified by the type certificate of Interstate Aviation Committee Aviation Register (IAC AR) issued in January 2011. The type certificate allowed to launch SSJ100 commercial operation.

In February 2012 EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency) issued Sukhoi Superjet 100 (model RRJ-95B) type certificate confirming that SCAC demonstrated SSJ100 full compliance with EASA air worthiness and environmental impact requirements. EASA type certificate allows European air carriers and carriers of those states where EASA norms are taken as standard, receive and operate SSJ100 (RRJ-95B). Sukhoi Superjet 100 is the first Russian aircraft certified according to CS-25 EASA.
