Göran Jansson will assume the position of CFO and Deputy President of
SAS on March 1, 2011. The current CFO, Mats Lönnqvist, will continue
until April 1, 2011, to ensure efficient handover of assignments and
responsibilities.
“I was recruited for a specific assignment in December 2008, which is
now about to be concluded,” says Mats Lönnqvist. SAS’ financial platform
is secure, it was delivered according to the CoreSAS cost program, and
at the presentation of results for 2010, we were able to report that our
underlying operation is now profitable and there are prerequisites for
achieving a positive result in 2011. Consequently, I believe it’s
natural to hand over now that SAS is moving into a new phase."
“I have worked with Mats Lönnqvist for only a short period but I can see
that he was a central player in bringing SAS through a difficult period
and creating a stable base,” says Rickard Gustafson, President and CEO
of SAS. “Mats has done a magnificent job. I regret but respect his
decision to leave the company now, and I am also happy that we have
found such a competent successor as Göran Jansson.”
Göran Jansson is 52 years old, a graduate in business administration
from Stockholm University and previously an authorized public
accountant. He joins us from various consulting and Board assignments.
“Göran Jansson is an experienced CFO, with extensive background from
several industries and listed companies. He has solid commercial
experience from management assignments in international companies,
including CFO and Deputy CEO of Assa Abloy for nearly 10 years,” says
Rickard Gustafson.
“SAS is quite a unique company. In the past years, significant work was
done to create a platform for the future. I look forward to contributing
further to this effort and ensuring SAS’ long-term profitability and
success in cooperation with the Group’s management and employees,” says
Göran Jansson.
