Garuda – CAE sign contract for two CAE A330-200 and B-737800NG Series full-flight simulators

PT. Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. today announced that it has sign a contract with CAE for two CAE 7000 Series Level D full-flight simulators (FFS) with CAE TroposTM-6000 visual systems. The FFSs will replicate the Airbus A330 and Boeing 737NG aircraft, and will be ready for training by the end of this year. The Contract is in line with the ongoing fleet modernization and development in Garuda Indonesia.

President and CEO Garuda Indonesia Emirsyah Satar said that to anticipate the rapid market growing in the industry, Garuda Indonesia had implemented Quantup Leap program until 2015 where Garuda will operate 153 aircraft including A330-200 and B-737-800 NG. “The partnership with CAE will help Garuda to fulfill the need for more pilot in time by providing them with new highest-quality training environment in its base in Jakarta.”

“Garuda Indonesia has been aggressively expanding its network and services in recent years, and they require a growing number of pilots," said Jeff Roberts, CAE’s Group Presi-dent, Civil Simulation Products, Training and Services. “These new flight simulators will help them maintain pace with their growth plans by providing the highest-quality training environment.”

The airline is currently using CAE-built FFSs for the Boeing 737 Classic configuration and MD-11, as well as a CAE Simfinity Integrated Procedures Trainer (IPT) for the Boeing 737NG and A330.
