SÃO PAULO, February 28, 2014 — GE Capital Aviation Services Limited (GECAS), the commercial aircraft leasing and financing arm of GE, today announced delivery of four new leased Boeing 737-800 aircraft to VRG Linhas Aéreas S. A. to expand its fleet.
The aircraft were part of a purchase-and-leaseback transaction between the airline and GECAS. The first aircraft delivered in December 2012; two delivered in 2013; and the final delivered late last month.
VRG Linhas Aéreas, the parent company of Gol, is the second largest carrier in Brazil, operating a fleet of 140 aircraft to some 70 destinations.
