GE Capital Aviation Services Delivers New Airbus A320s to Virgin America

STAMFORD, Conn., January 19, 2011 – GE Capital Aviation Services Inc. (GECAS), the commercial aircraft leasing and financing arm of GE, today announced delivery of a new Airbus A320 aircraft to Virgin America. Virgin America is a new U.S. airline that continues to experience significant growth with the addition of four new destinations in 2010.

The delivery was the second new A320 from GECAS’ existing order book with Airbus to be delivered to Virgin America this year. GECAS has worked closely with Virgin America since its start-up and certification.

Virgin America’s fleet is projected to grow by two-thirds by the end of 2011 and will triple in size by 2016. Since launching in August 2007, Virgin America has captured a list of industry best-in-class awards, including “Best Domestic Airline” in Condé Nast Traveler’s 2008, 2009 and 2010 Readers’ Choice Awards and Travel and Leisure’s 2008, 2009 and 2010 World’s Best Awards.
