GE Capital Aviation Services Delivers Two New Airbus A320s to Aigle Azur

SHANNON, Ireland, May 10, 2011 – GE Capital Aviation Services Limited (GECAS), the commercial aircraft leasing and financing unit of GE, announced delivery of two new Airbus A320s leased to French airline Aigle Azur. The aircraft come from GECAS’ existing order book with Airbus.

These two new aircraft joined Aigle Azur’s fleet of ten A320 Family aircraft, current fleet is now compris of four A319s, four A320s and four A321s.

“The delivery of these brand new aircraft highlights our fleet upgrading strategy which enables us to offer our passengers the highest levels of comfort and services,” said Arezki Idjerouidene, president of Aigle Azur. “With an all-Airbus fleet, we benefit from savings in every element of direct operating costs and from the highest degree of operational commonality”.

Founded in 1946, Aigle Azur is the longest established private French airline. The company became an Airbus operator in 2003, and since 2005, Aigle Azur has operated an all-Airbus fleet.

Aigle Azur is positioned as a leading European carrier to southern destinations. Algeria, Portugal, Mali, Burkina Faso and Tunisia all have regular flights for a total of 300 flights a week. Operating out of seven airports in France, the airline has exceptional coverage and annually flies 1.7 million passengers to their destinations.
