GE Capital Aviation Services Signs Purchase-and-Leaseback Deal with New Customer Interjet

MEXICO CITY, February 8, 2013 – GE Capital Aviation Services Limited (GECAS), the commercial aircraft leasing and financing arm of GE, announced it signed a purchase-and-leaseback transaction with a new customer, Interjet, a Mexican low-cost carrier, for six new Airbus A320 aircraft.

GECAS delivered two of the aircraft in December 2012. The remaining aircraft are scheduled for delivery in 2013. All six aircraft are the last from the airline’s order book with Airbus signed in 2006. In November 2012, Interjet signed a deal with Airbus for 40 Airbus A320 NEO aircraft for delivery starting in 2018.

Interjet operates an all-Airbus fleet of some 37 aircraft to more than 30 destinations in Mexico, the U.S., Central America and the Caribbean and moved over 7 million passengers in 2012.
