MEXICO CITY, April 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Grupo Aeromexico S.A.B de C.V. (“Aeromexico”) (BMV: AEROMEX), the largest intercontinental airline in Mexico, reports operating statistics for March, 2013.
Demand in March, measured in Revenue Passenger Kilometers (RPKs), increased 0.8% year-on-year. However, it is important to note that the Holy Week holiday period inevitably has a negative impact on business travel-related demand, which is our target demographic, and therefore negatively impacted this month’s traffic as compared to the same period last year.
Aeromexico’s capacity, measured in Available Seat Kilometers (ASKs), increased 6.0% year-on-year. The load factor for March was therefore 74.1%.
RPKs increased 1.3% year-on-year during the first quarter of 2013. The Company’s capacity, measured in Available Seat Kilometers (ASKs), increased 6.1% year-on-year. Load factor during the first quarter of 2013 was therefore 73.5%.
