Grupo Aeromexico Transported One Million 285 Thousand Passengers in August

MEXICO CITY, Sept. 13, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Grupo Aeromexico S.A.B de C.V. (“Aeromexico”) (BMV: AEROMEX), the largest intercontinental airline in Mexico, reports its operating statistics for August.

In August 2011, Grupo Aeromexico transported one million 285 thousand passengers; the highest number for the month of August in the Company’s history. The outcome represents a 17% increase in the number of passengers compared to August 2010, when significant growth was achieved as a result of Grupo Aeromexico’s strategies designed to respond to consolidation in the market. International passenger traffic grew 35% while domestic passenger traffic increased 11%. Therefore, a total of nine million 434 thousand passengers were transported during the first eight months of the year; 30% above the number registered for the same period in 2010.

Demand in August, measured in Revenue Passenger Kilometers (RPKs), was 18% above the demand reported in August 2010. Capacity, measured in Available Seat Kilometers (ASKs), registered a 20% increase. The load factor for the month was 79.8%. The cumulative load factor for the first eight months of the year was 79.0%.
