Grupo SATA continues to improve flight punctuality and regularity

Since the beginning of this year, Grupo SATA has kept up its track record of improvement in terms of the punctuality and regularity of its flights, including during peak summer activity.

Punctuality and regularity of flights is one of the most important factors in terms of how customers assess airline companies and in this regard SATA Air Açores and SATA Internacional have shown improvements along the current year.

From January to August 2011, SATA Air Açores’ flight punctuality was 86.3% compared to 72.6% in 2010 – an increase of 13.7 percentage points, representing an improvement of 19%.

Despite the significant impacts of Azores weather conditions on its operations, SATA Air Açores’ flight regularity saw a noteworthy increase of 4 percentage points, from 92.6% in 2010 to 96.6% in 2011.
During the months of June, July and August (summer high season) the punctuality of SATA Air Açores flights was 89.9% and flight regularity was 98.8%.

From 1 January to 31 August of this year, SATA Internacional’s flight punctuality was 81.9%, with 99.5% flight regularity (actual versus scheduled flights). These indicators, compared to the same period in 2010, when flight punctuality was 66.3% and flight regularity was 96.9%, show increases of 15.6 percentage points for flight punctuality and 2.6 percentage points for flight regularity.
