Hamilton Sundstrand Corporation, a subsidiary of United Technologies
Corporation, and a key supplier in the Boeing 787 Dreamliner program
and Lufthansa Technik AG have signed a long-term contract for
providing MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) services on Hamilton
Sundstrand’s components for the Boeing 787.
This relationship allows Lufthansa Technik’s component division to
take another step forward by offering a broad portfolio of services
for Hamilton Sundstrand components to Boeing 787 customers, including
latest technologies like bleedless systems or liquid cooling
components.
For the Boeing 787, as for other aircraft types in the past,
Lufthansa Technik will continue its successful path of developing and
applying sophisticated repairs. The agreement also enables Lufthansa
Technik to become an official member of Hamilton Sundstrand’s Boeing
787 MRO supplier network.
“Hamilton Sundstrand is pleased to provide Boeing 787 customers with
additional maintenance options through its newest relationship with
Lufthansa Technik,” said Matthew Bromberg, vice president and general
manager Customer Service of Hamilton Sundstrand. “Lufthansa Technik’s
vast experience in the overhaul, maintenance and repair industry will
provide the solid foundation needed to successfully support our
customers.”
Dr. Burkhard Andrich, senior vice president Aircraft Component
Services of Lufthansa Technik, said: “I am pleased that we could
further extend the long-standing successful relationship with
Hamilton Sundstrand. This agreement is a major milestone for our
roadmap to establish Lufthansa Technik as one of the leading MRO
providers for the new Boeing 787 program.”
Lufthansa Technik and Hamilton Sundstrand are already cooperating in
on-site-support for components and projects for other aircraft to
increase the reliability of components or the development of new
repair methods.
