Hellenic Imperial Airways launches London Gatwick flights

The Greek carrier Hellenic Imperial Airways will start flights between Athens and London Gatwick from 01 July this year with onward connections to Kuwait and Dubai.

Flights will initially operate three times weekly using an Airbus A340 aircraft offering both a full service Business Class and Economy Class cabin.

The initial three-times weekly service will offer same-day connections to Kuwait with three additional flights to be launched in the next 3 months with same-day connections to Dubai. Since the A340s are also used on the airline’s New York to Athens service, the aircraft offer all the comforts of long-haul travel with personal in-flight entertainment at all seats and spacious recliner seats in Business Class.

As an introductory offer, Hellenic Imperial is offering a 5% commission to UK travel agents.

As part of the new operation, the airline has appointed APG, the world’s leading GSA network as its representative in the UK and Ireland. APG will be providing full sales and marketing services in both countries as well as providing call centre and ticketing facilities.

The airline was incorporated in May 2006 by a team of industry experts, and to date has operated charter flights and aircraft leasing on an ACMI basis. Hellenic Imperial Airways has now initiated plans to expand its operations and fleet, and re-connect Greece to the world creating a large network of scheduled flights around the globe. In its first phase of its expansion to begin this month, Hellenic Imperial will offer nonstop flights to New York, Dubai, Kuwait and London with further destinations to follow.
