Hong Kong Airlines takes delivery of new A320 aircraft

Hong Kong Airlines has taken delivery of a new Airbus A320 that is the first aircraft to feature sharklets. The Airline’s sixth A320 arrived at the Hong Kong International Airport 10am today and will commence service by tomorrow.

The new all-economy class A320 is configured with 174 seats and will enhance the Airlines’ overall capacity by lifting the fleet size to 23 aircraft. It is also the Airlines’ first 320 aircraft with sharklet wingtip device, which is designed by the manufacturer to enhance fuel saving and improve flight performance.

Hong Kong Airlines has just launched service for the Ho Chi Minh City and boosted flight frequency of Hangzhou and Okinawa to three and two flights a day respectively. Two new routes, Kagoshima and Tianjin, will take inaugural flights by end of March. The Airlines will keep enhancing its route network with the same model of aircraft taking delivery during the year.
