Iberia and Brazil's TAM to code share on some Brazil and Europe flights

Iberia and the Brazilian airline TAM, which belongs to the LATAM Airlines Group, have reach a code-sharing agreement covering routes in Brazil and Europe.

Passengers travelling with Iberia from Europe to Rio de Janeiro or São Paulo can now fly under Iberia flight number to 10 additional Brazilian destinations served by TAM:

Brasilia
Belo Horizonte
Curitiba
Florianopolis
Fortaleza
Manaus
Natal
Porto Alegre
Recife
Salvador

Passengers flying with TAM can fly on to nine Iberia destinations in Europe:

Barcelona
Tenerife
Bilbao
Asturias
Rome
Zurich
Dusseldorf
Geneva
Venice

These code-share flights can be booked through all Iberia and TAM sales channels to fly starting on the 18th of December.

Iberia and TAM both use Terminal 4 in Madrid-Barajas Airport and Terminal 3 at the São Paulo airport, facilitating connections.

The tighter links between to two airlines, partners in the oneworld airline alliance since TAM joined last April, mean more advantage for customers, who can earn and redeem frequent flyers’ points with both airlines.

Commenting on the agreement, Iberia’s Chairman and CEO, Luis Gallego, said “Brazil is a strategic market for Iberia and one of the most important in Latin America. This agreement enables us to offer better connections from Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo which we serve with direct flights from Madrid. Our goal, in association with the LATAM group, is to consolidate our position as one of the main airlines between Europe and Brazil”.

TAM Chairwoman Claudia Sender said “the strengthening of our alliance with Iberia adds important business and holiday destinations to our network in Europe, while giving our passengers from Europe more and better options for domestic flights in Brazil”.
