Icelandair Group: Traffic Data April 2013

The Company carried 148 thousand passengers on international flights in April. The number of passengers was up by 9% as compared to April last year. The capacity increase in April totalled 20% between years. The passenger load factor was 76.2% compared to 81.3% at the same time last year. Increased capacity on the Company’s longer routes, measured in available seat kilometres (ASK), leads to proportional decrease in the load factor.

Passengers on regional flights and Greenland flights were 25 thousand in April, which is 5% decrease from April last year. The capacity was decreased by 10% compared to April 2012. The load factor was 69.3%, increasing by 3.3 percentage points from last year. Sold block hours in charter flights decreased by 7% between years. Cargo transport increased by 5% year-on-year. The number of sold room nights at our Hotels was up by 16% from previous year. The room utilization was 66.9%, compared to 66.8% in April last year.
