Icelandair Group: Traffic Data August 2014

The Company carried 354 thousand passengers on international flights in August. The number of passengers was up by 18% as compared to August last year. The capacity increase totalled 19% between years. The passenger load factor was 86.2% compared to 85.5% at the same time last year. The number of passengers on the Trans-Atlantic market increased the most or by 23.4%. Passengers on this market were 55% of total passengers carried on the Company’s international flights.

Passengers on regional flights and Greenland flights were 32 thousand in August, which is 2% decrease from August last year. The capacity was decreased by 3% compared to August 2013. The load factor was 74.1%, increasing by 0.6 percentage points from last year. Sold block hours in charter flights decreased by 22% between years. Cargo transport increased by 1% year-on-year. The number of sold room nights at our Hotels increased by 3.9% compared to previous year. The room utilization was 88.3%, compared to 88.2% in August last year.
