Icelandair Group: Traffic Data December 2013

The Company carried 141 thousand passengers on international flights in December. The number of passengers was up by 18% as compared to December last year. The capacity increase totalled 15% between years. The passenger load factor was 76.2% compared to 72.6% at the same time last year.

The Company has never carried more passengers on international flights than in 2013. The total number of passengers carried was 2,257,305, an increase by 12% from 2012. The annual growth in the past few years has been 12-18% and the total number of passengers carried has increased by one million since 2009.

Passengers on regional flights and Greenland flights were close to 20 thousand in December, which is 10% decrease from December last year. The capacity was decreased by 10% compared to December 2012. The load factor was 65.0%, decreasing by 1.5 percentage points from last year. Sold block hours in charter flights decreased by 8% between years. Cargo transport increased by 9% year-on-year. The room utilization at the Company’s Hotels was 45.7%, compared to 46.1% in December last year.
