The number of passenger on international flights was 151 thousand in January and increased by 21% compared to January last year. The capacity increase was 14% in total and the passenger load factor was 76.7% increasing by 6.2 percentage points between years, which is the highest load factor in January.
The number of passengers on regional and Greenland flights amounted to 20 thousand, decreasing by 4% compared to January last year. The capacity in January was 2% lower than in January last year. The passenger seat load factor was 66.9% compared to 68.9% in January 2014. Sold block hours in the capacity sector decreased by 33% in January. Freight decreased by 4% year-on-year. The number of sold room nights at Icelandair Hotels was up by 31% from last year. The room utilization was 67.2%, 15.8 percentage points higher than in January 2014.
