Icelandair Group: Traffic Data September 2014

The Company carried 260 thousand passengers on international flights in September. The number of passengers was up by 21% as compared to September last year. The capacity increase compared to September 2013 was 21%. The passenger load factor was 79.7% compared to 77.6% last year. The number of passengers on the Trans-Atlantic market increased the most or by 33.9%.

Passengers on regional flights and Greenland flights were 26 thousand in September, which was a 4% increase from September last year. The load factor was 75.1%, increasing by 3.9 percentage points compared to September 2013. Sold block hours in charter flights decreased by 35% between years. The utilization of charter aircraft was 85.7% compared to 96.7% in 2013. Decrease in utilization is due to maintenance work in September. Cargo transport decreased by 3% year-on-year. The number of sold room nights at our hotels was up by 17% from previous year. The room utilization was 81.3%, 11.5 percentage points higher than in September 2013.
