Icelandair: Traffic Data March 2014

The Company carried 159 thousand passengers on international flights in March. The number of passengers was up by 10% as compared to March last year. The capacity increase in available seat kilometers was 17%. The capacity increase to North-America was 28%, due to flights to new destination Edmonton and increased frequency to Toronto and Washington. The capacity increase on European routes totalled 5%. The passenger load factor was 78.2%, decreasing by 1.1 percentage points compared to March last year.

Passengers on regional flights and Greenland flights were 24 thousand in March, which is 7% decrease from March last year. The capacity was decreased by 4%. The load factor was 72.0%, decreasing by 2.1 percentage points from last year. Sold block hours in charter flights decreased by 21% between years. Cargo transport increased by 10% year-on-year. The number of sold room nights at our Hotels was up by 8% from previous year. The room utilization was 78.5%, compared to 72.7% in March last year.
