Improvement of air passenger experience and security is key for Airline Associations in Europe and the United States

On 1-2 October, the Association of European Airlines (AEA) and Airlines for America (A4A), airline associations on both sides of the Atlantic, met in Brussels to discuss aviation security and passenger facilitation related issues.

The two associations traditionally have a good cooperation and have been working together intensively for years to harmonise the security and border crossing regulations. During the event, the representatives also met with regulators from the European Commission as well as from the US Transport Security Administration (TSA) to exchange views on passenger facilitation.

“We are glad to host this very important meeting. We acknowledge and value the strong partnership between the organisations and this is a key milestone in our cooperation. During the two days, we agreed to continue working on the improvement of air passenger experience in key areas such as the regulation on liquids and gels. AEA and A4A recognise the equal level of security in the EU and USA and urges the regulators to act accordingly” said Mr Athar Husain Khan, acting Secretary General of AEA.

Calio. “We support collaborative efforts with our partners at AEA, to move forward with a risk-based approach to enhancing safety and security in order to facilitate the travellers’ experience, which will benefit passengers around the world by making air travel more convenient and enjoyable, while enhancing safety.”
