TAMPA, Fla. (June 3, 2013) — The conversion partner of choice in China, PEMCO World Air Services (PEMCO), has announced the completion of a major aircraft conversion project with Shenzhen-based SF Express, a company renowned throughout the People’s Republic of China as a major driver of the Chinese economy. The project, of which four aircraft have already been redelivered and are operating superbly, is wrapping up this month as SF Airlines takes delivery and begins operating its fifth PEMCO 737-300/400 freighter.
The 737-300F aircraft are nine position freighters with the ability to carry 21 tons of freight with a max range exceeding 2,000 miles, while the three 737-400F aircraft are 11 position freighters capable of hauling 4,600 ft³ of main deck cargo (6000 ft³ total) weighing up to 24 tons, and flying well over 2,000 miles.
PEMCO’s Boeing aircraft conversions are the world’s only 737-300/400 cargo conversions designed, built and supported with genuine Boeing data obtained under a full license agreement to out perform and outlast the competition. These 737 freighters are helping SF Airlines satisfy SF Express’ ever-increasing express freight lift requirements driven by its meteoric rise as a preeminent express carrier in China. According to the carrier, the reliability and operating economics of the PEMCO 737 freighters in SF’s regional network have exceeded SF’s expectations and enabled SF Express to expand its network profitably and effectively.
“The success of these freighters in SF’s network is extremely gratifying and we are thrilled to contribute even in a small way to SF’s massive growth and superlative service.” stated PEMCO President, Kevin Casey. “We are honored to be the exclusive choice for a freight industry leader such as SF Express, and look forward to continuing to deliver the best quality aircraft to their rapidly growing fleet.”
