Industry veterans combine to form a new complete life cycle provider of Aircraft Management Services

Arena Aviation Capital is a full-service Aircraft Investment Management company focusing on the complete life cycle of acquiring and leasing mid- life and older commercial aviation assets for Institutional Investors and High Net Worth Individuals.

Amsterdam– March 14, 2014. Today the managing partners of Arena Aviation Capital BV launched their new aircraft management services company in Amsterdam. The company is led by industry veterans Patrick den Elzen, Erik Dahmen and Diederik Lindhout who collectively have over 50 years of relevant industry experience.

Arena provides full life cycle aircraft investment management services for financial institutional and high net wealth investors, including the origination, financing, risk management, and administration (finance/accounting and legal) of commercial aviation assets. Arena also provides pre-packaged tailor-made solutions for airline customers for their mid and end-of-life aircraft.

Arena’s technical and lease management services will be exclusively provided through SGI Aviation. SGI Aviation is a world leader in the provision of technical consulting and advisory services in the areas of aircraft and engine asset management and safety regulations.

Arena is proud to have partnered with Alterna Capital Partners, a private equity firm based in Wilton, CT as its launch customer.

Earle Goldin, Partner at Alterna Capital Partners says: “We have had a very good experience with Arena as their launch Customer and will continue to invest in transactions in partnership with Arena. Their depth of knowledge, global relationships, and support by SGI Aviation in their capacity as technical and lease managers creates a best in class platform to invest in mid and end of life aviation assets. We look forward to working with Arena to further develop our aircraft investment activities as we expand our portfolio. We are confident that we will be able to invest another $100mm of equity in commercial aviation assets in 2014 as part of Arena’s growing pool of investment opportunities. We expect Arena to have 100 aircraft under management by 2018.”

Patrick den Elzen, Arena Managing Director says: “We firmly believe that a successful management company does not stop at providing services, but actively develops an investment business case for its customers. Alterna has been a very supportive partner and we look forward to working with them as we expand our client base. Investing in mid-life to older aircraft offers attractive risk-return parameters if done the right way. Arena competes on knowledge and not on capital and this is our defining competitive strength.”
