JetBlue Airways Corporation (NASDAQ: JBLU) reported its preliminary traffic results for May 2011. Traffic in May increased 10.6 percent from May 2010, on a capacity increase of 8.9 percent.
Load factor for May 2011 was 82.6 percent, an increase of 1.3 points from May 2010. JetBlue’s preliminary completion factor was 99.6 percent and its on-time (1) performance was 76.2 percent. JetBlue’s preliminary passenger revenue per available seat mile (PRASM) for the month of May increased 19 percent year over year. For the second quarter of 2011, PRASM is expected to increase between 13 and 15 percent year over year.
