JetBlue Connects Newark and the Dominican Republic

NEW YORK, NY — (Marketwired) — 01/27/14 — JetBlue Airways (NASDAQ: JBLU), New York’s Hometown Airlineā„¢, adds non-stop service from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) to Santiago, Dominican Republic (STI), effective May 1 (a).

“This new service will help reconnect families and friends with fares designed to inspire more travel,” said JetBlue President Robin Hayes. “New Jersey is home to the second largest Dominican population in the U.S. after New York, so eliminating the need to cross two rivers in order to get to the airport is significant time savings for our customers.”

Flights are now available for sale on JetBlue.com, starting at $169 one way (b) from Newark to Santiago, valid for travel between May 1 and June 12, 2014. Tickets must be booked by February 8, 2014.

JetBlue currently offers nonstop service to seven destinations from Newark: Boston; Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood; Fort Myers; Orlando; San Juan, Puerto Rico; Tampa; and West Palm Beach.

JetBlue’s flights to Santiago will be operated with an Airbus A320 and will offer the airline’s award-winning service featuring assigned and comfortable seating; a first-checked bag free ©; complimentary and unlimited name-brand snacks and non-alcoholic/soft drinks; free first-run movies on seatback televisions (d); and more legroom than any other U.S. carrier in coach (e).
