JETLINES CLARIFIES AIRCRAFT LEASING STATUS

Despite some aviation news sources recently stating otherwise, to date, Canada Jetlines Ltd. has not signed a leasing agreement or letter of intent with any aircraft acquisition firm.

As Jetlines prepares for service, company representatives are in frequent contact with multiple aircraft procurement companies. As part of its corporate due diligence Jetlines is pursuing a variety of options to lease or purchase previously operated Boeing 737 equipment for its commercial use later this year.

“The amount of interest in Jetlines continues to exceed our highest expectations.” said David Solloway, President of Canada Jetlines Ltd. “In this case we feel it’s important to clarify our aircraft status as we want to ensure that any enterprise we’re dealing with on this matter is aware of our sincere interest and that any potential future negotiations will be done in good faith.”

On December 11, 2014, Canada Jetlines signed a definitive purchase agreement with The Boeing Company. The agreement includes five firm orders for new Boeing 737 MAX aircraft and purchase rights for an additional sixteen with delivery scheduled to begin in 2021.
