KLM Cityhopper Signs With KLM UK Engineering For Fokker 70 Heavy Maintenance

Paris, Amstelveen, 9 July 2013 – AFI KLM E&M and KLM Cityhopper have signed a maintenance agreement covering the regional carrier’s Fokker 70 fleet. In addition to heavy maintenance checks, the contract also includes modification work on the same aircraft type. The work will be carried out by KLM UK Engineering, a KLM subsidiary within AFI KLM E&M’s global MRO network specialized in regional and narrow body aircraft maintenance.

Strengthened partnership relations
The present agreement carries on from the accord signed in November 2012 involving KLM UK Engineering line maintenance for KLM Cityhopper’s Fokker 70s at all UK outstations except Aberdeen. The carrier is thus maintaining its trust in KLM UK Engineering, seen as a reliable partner able to deliver top-quality services within optimized lead-times.

Boet Kreiken, Managing Director, KLM Cityhopper, said: “Given the track record and professional and industrial drive for continuous improvement in quality, throughput time and cost, we have full confidence that KLM UK Engineering will continue to fulfill and exceed its contractual performance to the benefit of our operating airline.” Paul Chün, KLM UK Engineering Managing Director, added: “This new cooperation agreement with KLM Cityhopper, one of Europe’s major regional airlines, is a further demonstration of our skills and know-how. We are delighted to be putting the relationship between our two groups on a more permanent footing.”
