LARGEST AIRCRAFT PAINT FACILITY IN NORTH AMERICA OPENS IN KANSAS CITY

Kansas City, MO based commercial aircraft supplier Jet Midwest has recently opened the largest commercial aircraft paint facility in North America at the former American Airlines maintenance facility in Kansas City, MO

The Jet Midwest Technik 1,200,000 square feet paint facility can accommodate aircraft as large as the new Boeing 747-800 and has already secured a number of paint contracts with airlines from the US and around the world.

“We are excited beyond belief with the tremendous reaction we have been met with in the airline marketplace” says Jet Midwest Technik CEO Patrick Kraus. “ The facility gives us a tremendous footprint from which to grow our business and add even more capability to service our existing and new customer base and being centrally located in the US gives our clients even more value being at a major international airport.

In addition to corporate and commercial aircraft paint, Jet Midwest Technik also performs aircraft heavy maintenance work on all MD-80 and 737 series aircraft and intends to expand its capability to include larger wide-body aircraft such as 747, 767, and 777 later in the year.

Jet Midwest was founded in 1997 as a commercial aircraft parts supplier and has grown to include a number of related companies including aircraft and engine trading and MRO services under the Jet Midwest Technik brand. Jet Midwest has bought and sold over 250 aircraft.

With hangars large enough to house multiple 747-800 aircraft, the facility originally built by TWA and later occupied by American Airlines was home to heavy maintenance operations for both airlines and once employed over 2000 aircraft mechanics, engineers and tradesmen. The new facilities include over 1,200,000 square feet of hangar, shop and office space and over 64 acres of aircraft ramp parking.
