LORANT LIMBURGER ACTING CEO OF MALEV

The General Assembly of the Hungarian national airline has appointed Lóránt Limburger as acting Chief Executive Officer of Malév with effect from 1 June 2011. The air industry professional has been CEO of Malév Ground Handling Zrt. since 2007, and while acting as senior executive of the carrier he will continue to oversee the operation of MGH.

Speaking at the General Assembly meeting on 27 May, Lóránt Limburger thanked Chairman of the Board of Directors of Malév Dr. János Berényi as well as the entire board and management for their support. He told those assembled: “I will do everything I can to help ensure that our airline survives into the future. I will put all my energy into working in partnership with the Board of Directors so that through Malév we will be able to navigate our way through the current situation.”

Lóránt Limburger was appointed to the post of CEO of Malév Ground Handling at the request of the owners from 13 July 2007, when he returned to Malév after a break of nearly three years. Under his management the ground handling company has operated profitably year after year, in addition to which his managerial expertise is associated with the implementation of numerous innovations and important developments.

Starting in 1993, Lóránt worked for many years as a ground handling sales executive in the field of Malév ground handling, then for four and a half years from 2000 he oversaw service activities as traffic director of Malév. In the wake of this position he moved – in December 2004 – to Budapest Airport as head of the Ground Handling Directorate, then from the autumn of 2005 he became general manager of Budapest Airport Handling Kft. In October 2006 he continued his activities connected with the ground handling of aircraft as managing director of Celebi Kft.
