LOT updates flight schedule for summer 2014

Warsaw, 10 December 2013 – LOT Polish Airlines are updating today the flight schedule for the upcoming summer season in their booking systems. There will be inter alia introduced new flight frequencies, as well as changes resulting from the requirements of the European Commission with regard to the carrier’s restructuring plan. The new offer also includes additional connections to Rome for John Paul II canonisation, by Dreamliner!

The carrier actively responds to market demand and – starting this spring – offers additional frequencies on European flights. As compared to the 2013 summer schedule, summer of 2014 will bring the “second wave” of afternoon flights from Warsaw. In the Central and Eastern Europe it will cover airports in Budapest, Prague, Sofia, Bucharest, Belgrade, Moscow, Lviv, Odessa, Vilnius, Riga and Tallinn. This means that new frequencies will emerge on these routes. Changes in the schedule for the Western Europe relate to Copenhagen (additional flights with the aircraft staying overnight 6 times a week). There will be also additional weekly frequencies to Milan, Stockholm and Brussels. Modifications also concern flights to Paris, Hamburg and Amsterdam. Besides, it will be possible to fly to these cities more frequently.

Additional wave of departures from and arrivals to LOT hub in Warsaw allows to offer transit passengers more convenient stopovers for carrier’s transatlantic flights and for Beijing.
In the peak of the season, stopover opportunities for transfer passengers will increase by 40 %
a week.

Daily flights to Chicago, New York and Toronto will be performed throughout the season in
a fixed afternoon schedule. Further afternoon flights will be launched in months with the greatest passengers demand (May – September). Beijing schedule remains unchanged.

In spring LOT will perform additional 5 flights to Rome using Dreamliners. Between 22 April and 3 May, passengers will be able to fly from Warsaw to the Italian capital in the most modern and comfortable machines in the world. Tickets are already available for sale at lot.com. Besides, the carrier sells tickets for direct flights to Rome from Cracow, by smaller planes.

As announced, foreign flights from regional airports will be withdrawn from the booking system. After the new schedule enters into force all such flights will be performed through Warsaw. These changes are intended to meet the requirements of the European Commission in the framework of compensation which has been also included to the Company Restructuring Plan.

Changes in the system will be introduced gradually. The summer schedule will be effective from 31 March 2014.
