Mahan Air will commence flights to Shanghai Pudong Airport (PVG) effective 2September 2011.
During a press conference held recently for this latest route expansion HosseinHosseini the Director of Marketing for the airline said “We are delightedto announce Shanghi as our third new route for 2011, after Kuala Lumpur to Mashad as well as flights to Istanbul Sabiha Airport (SAW), Turkey”. Headded “We have seen significant increase in demand for Shanghai as afocal point of trade and tourism for the Iranian travelers. Additionally, thestrong demand shown by the Chinese businessmen to travel to Iran and thecontinued growth of trade volume between Iran and China has created the rightopportunities for introducing direct flights between the two great cities ofShanghai and Tehran”. The twice weekly non –stop flight whichwill commence as of 2 September 2011, will are preformed via 747 equipment with387 economy and 44 business class seats.
Inconjunction with the launch of this new destination, the airline is offeringpromotional airfares and double mileage for its Mahan & Miles members until31 December, 2011.
Shanghai will be the 18th internationaldestination served by the airline. Established in 1991, Mahan Air has a fleetof more than 38 airbus and Boeing passenger aircraft and it is serving Europe,CIS, far East and the Middle East.
