Mahan Air is pleased to announce its decision to serve the southern Chinese industrial port city of Guangzhou to further cement its position in one of the world’s fastest growing economies.
Beginning 19 May, Tehran-based Mahan Air will operate twice -a-week non-stop using an Airbus A310 aircraft in a two-class configuration of up to 24 seats in Business Class and a maximum 160 in the Economy.
The addition of Guangzhou strengthens Mahan Air China network, where it already flies to Shanghai. Passengers flying Mahan Air from Europe and Middle East will have excellent connections to Guangzhou via the airline’s operational hub of Tehran, capital of the Iran.
Guangzhou, also known by its older English name of Canton, has a population of more than 10 million people and is the capital of Guangdong province. The province contributes approximately 12% of the PRC’s national economic output, and is home to the production facilities and offices of a wide-ranging set of multinational and Chinese corporations. Guangdong also hosts the largest Import and Export Fair in China called the Canton Fair in Guangdong’s capital city Guangzhou. Guangzhou would complement the airline’s four weekly flights to Shanghai, offering business and leisure travelers an exciting opportunity to visit two most exciting cities in China. We are proud to announce that China is, and will continue to be, a strategically vital part of Mahan Air expansion plans and with the trade level between China and Iran at all time high, we cannot afford to ignore a country with such a thriving and buoyant economy.
