Mahan Celebrates Inaugural Flight to Phuket

Phuket, DEC.7 / When Mahan Air flight 5049 touched down in phuket today, it officially opened the first and only non-stop connection between Phuket and the Middle East.

The inaugural flight for Mahan’s new weekly service between Phuket and Tehran was greeted by fanfare at phuket International Airport. The dignitaries on board the initial flight included senior Iran Civil Aviation Organization officials, First Secretary of Royal Thai Embassy in Tehran, press members as well as senior Mahan Air executives. The flight was greeted by Thailand Tourism Authority as well as AOT senior officials.

Mahan Air is pleased to include Phuket as our second gateway in Thailand after Bangkok opening the first non-stop direct gate way between Phuket and Tehran .With unique natural resources Phuket will be very attractive to leisure travelers from Iran as well as across our growing route network.

Mahan is not new to Thailand as it has been serving the Thai capital Bangkok for more than a decade. Phuket is the airline’s 40th destination which covers Europe, CIS, Middle East and the Far East.
