Michael Göntgens appointed Head of Communications at Lufthansa Cargo

Michael Göntgens will head the communications team at Lufthansa Cargo as of 1
November. The 33-year old currently works as a team leader for PR and internal
communications for the freight airline. He succeeds Matthias Eberle who has been
responsible for internal communications for the Lufthansa Group including its core
business of Lufthansa Passage since 15 September. Göntgens completed an aviation
management trainee program at Lufthansa and has a degree in business administration
(BA) and a Master of Science in Corporate Communications. In his new position, he will
report to Lufthansa Cargo CEO Peter Gerber. He will take on responsibility for internal and
external communications and marketing communications for the Lufthansa subsidiary.

“Michael Göntgens is an experienced communicator and airline expert from within our own
ranks who has been handling communications in various roles within the Lufthansa Group
for ten years already”, reports Peter Gerber.

Barbara Schädler, Head of Corporate Communications for the Lufthansa Group, explains:
“I am very much looking forward to working closely with Michael Göntgens. Lufthansa
Cargo is an important part of the Lufthansa Group which is always present both inside and
outside the group. Lufthansa Cargo’s communications have a significant impact on the
whole Lufthansa brand.”
