No incidents at the airports has been reported during the third strike day at Iberia while minimum services required by law during the strike called by airline employees are being carried out. At 20:00, 116 flights had departed – all of the flights scheduled so far -. A total of 123 flights are scheduled for today.
Iberia recommends its passengers booked on flights operating today under the minimum services rule to speed procedures by obtaining their boarding passes on line from www.iberia.com (under online check-in), where they are available up to 24 hours before departure time. Passengers with only hand luggage can then proceed directly to security control and boarding gates. Priority at security control will be given to passengers who download their boarding passes to their cell phones. For those travelling with luggage, Iberia’s automatic check-in machines in T4 should be used to obtain luggage tags after boarding passes have been issued.
Iberia has set up a free 24-hour help line for customers at 900 100 480, along with its traditional help line at 902 400 500. Customers may also consult the status of flights on the Iberia website http://www.iberia.com, at Arrivals and Departures , (under “Information”) and view reservation status under Booking Management. For flights operated by other airlines, customers should consult with them directly.
Up-to-date information will also be supplied through Iberia call centres around the world, on the airline’s Facebook and Twitter profiles, Iberia desks in more than 100 airports around the world, and travel agencies. Customers who sign up with the Iberia Conecta on the www.iberia.com site will automatically receive real-time information about their flights.
Iberia is making every effort to find seats on Iberia or other airlines for passengers booked on flights cancelled because of the strike, and is making full refunds when no alternatives are available or acceptable to the customer. Iberia has found different travel alternatives for the 70,000 customers whose flights for this week were cancelled.
