MONARCH AIRCRAFT ENGINEERING OFFICIALLY OPENS STATE-OF-THE-ART TRAINING FACILITY

Monarch Aircraft Engineering (MAEL), the award-winning independent aircraft maintenance provider has opened a brand new state-of-the-art training facility, Monarch Aircraft Engineering Training Academy (MAETA).

Based at London Luton Airport, the training academy has undergone a complete refurbishment providing several new theatre style classrooms and facilities for Composite and Fibre optic training, a technology that is now being employed on next generation aircraft.

Commenting on this development, Mick Adams, Managing Director said, “This investment into new technology training facilities is a natural progression for the business, where we are a leading MRO and we intend on maintaining this position. MAEL has been training aircraft engineers for the past four decades and has gained a worldwide reputation for its continuing high standards”. “This well equipped learning centre will also house the apprenticeship training scheme. MAETA has been involved with apprentice training for over 40 years and continues to uphold its reputation for producing high calibre engineers for the industry. In fact in 2012 the academy enrolled its 700th apprentice to be trained”. The new Training Academy facility was officially launched by Iain Rawlinson, Executive Chairman of The Monarch Group, who commented: “We are delighted to be opening this prestigious new facility for Monarch Aircraft Engineering in Luton. The Academy provides superb opportunities for training engineers from MAEL and the global aviation industry in a high-quality environment, and ensures that The Monarch Group remains at the leading edge of aircraft industry innovation.” MAETA has facilities at its Luton and Manchester bases and provides training on several aircraft types. Boeing 787 training will commence in 2013. Composite and Fibre optic courses will commence early 2013. MAETA has the capability of delivering Part 147 approved training on Boeing and Airbus types from general familiarisation to B1/B2 level and more recently gained Part 147 approval for the Cat “A” Licence that has been embedded into the apprenticeship scheme.
