Monarch Aircraft Engineering wins approval for Maintenance Station in Warsaw to support LOT Polish Airlines

Award-winning independent aircraft maintenance provider, Monarch Aircraft Engineering (MAEL), is pleased to announce that it has won approval to provide technical support to LOT Polish Airlines’ Boeing 787 Dreamliner, which is the first aircraft of its type to be operated from Europe.

MAEL’s highly-experienced engineering team has worked tirelessly over several months to ensure that its new line maintenance facility in Warsaw, Poland is equipped with the appropriate level of Boeing 787 Dreamliner tooling, test and ground support equipment, along with a significant stockholding of line maintenance material. This has resulted in MAEL being awarded EASA part 145 approval to commence operations for LOT Polish Airlines’ new 787 Dreamliner aircraft.

Engineers from MAEL are to fly with the first LOT Polish Airlines Boeing 787 Dreamliner during its ferry flight from Seattle to Warsaw on 14 November 2012 and will commence provision of airframe maintenance support services once the aircraft is stationed in Poland. In addition to the maintenance operation in Poland, MAEL will provide on-board engineering support for LOT Polish Airlines aircraft to ensure operational standards are maintained.

Commenting on MAEL’s support for LOT Polish Airlines Boeing 787 Dreamliner, Mick Adams, MAEL Managing Director said, “We are delighted to be part of the LOT team accepting the first Boeing 787 Dreamliner into Europe, which for the entire MAEL team is a significant milestone in the story of our continuing growth.

“The approval to support this very latest aircraft technology is a further endorsement of the high-quality engineering services MAEL is able to offer to a rapidly-growing customer base and we are looking forward to providing the highest standard of technical support to our new customer, LOT Polish Airlines, and the first Boeing 787 Dreamliner to be operated from Europe.”

Ian Rawlinson, Executive Chairman of The Monarch Group, said, “This contract with LOT Polish Airlines is an important development in the third-party business carried out by MAEL. The Boeing 787 Dreamliner is at the leading edge of aviation technology and we are proud to have been selected for involvement in this milestone in European aviation.”
