Moscow Domodedovo Airport is the Leader in Passenger Traffic among Airports of Moscow Aviation Hub

According to the results of May 2011, the passenger traffic at Moscow Domodedovo Airport was 2,264,928 people, which is 24.3% more than in March 2010.

The domestic passenger traffic was about 851,395 people. Compared to May 2010, it increased by 26.1%. The international passenger traffic increased by 23.3%, compared to the last year, and amounted to 1,413,533 people.

According to the results of five months of 2011, the passenger traffic was 8,630,410 people. Compared to January-May 2010, it increased by 12.8%.

The domestic passenger traffic was 3,449,524 people, which is 14.8% more than in January-May of the last year. The highest passenger traffic growth was recorded in the following domestic routes: Krasnodar, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Rostov-on-Don, Makhachkala. The passenger traffic for these routes amounted to 893,000 people, which is 35.3% more, than in January-May of the last year.

The international passenger traffic was about 5,180,886 people (11.5% more to that of January-May 2010). The highest passenger traffic growth was recorded on the following international routes: Antalya, Munich, Barcelona, Berlin, Frankfurt am Main. In January-May 2011, the above routes were chosen by 895,000 people, which is 76.5% more than the figure for the same period last year.

In May 2011, the number of flights increased by 21.9%, compared to May last year, and amounted to 21,447 takeoff and landing operations. In January-May 2011, 90,564 flights were operated, which is 17.9% more, compared to the same period in 2010.

The cargo traffic in Domodedovo Airport was 15,858 tons, which is 28.1% more, compared to the last year. The cargo traffic in Domodedovo Airport increased by 24.6%, compared to January-May of the last year, and amounted to 70,311 tons.

Moscow Domodedovo Airport is the largest airport in Russia, providing 44% of passenger traffic in the Moscow Aviation Hub. In 2010, the airport services were provided to 22.3 million passengers.
