BANGKOK, Thailand (October 2 , 2014)—Nok Air and its joint venture partners ANA Holdings and Assumption University (ABAC) officially celebrated the launch of Pan Am International Flight Training Center (Thailand), a new state-of-the-art flight training center at ABAC’s Suvarnabhumi campus. The simulator training center will opens with an A320 simulator, with plans to expand to a total of four simulators – two A320s and two Boeing 737NGs.
Pan Am Thailand will provide the following types of training:
• Dry Simulator Rental
• Type Rating Training
• Ab Initio Pilot w/ Airline Transition
• Maintenance Training
• Cabin Crew Training
• Aircraft Dispatcher Training
• Aviation English Training
By 2030 approximately 230,000 pilots will be required, which is 4.5 times more than current pilot numbers (Source: ICAO “Global and Regional 20-year Forecasts”). “With the future high demand for pilots, Pan Am Thailand will be the prime training ground for the region. This world class facility will provide our own pilots with state-of-the-art training,” states Piya Yodmani, Deputy CEO of Nok Air.
