NokScoot Granted Air Operator Certificate for LCC operations

BANGKOK, Thailand (November 3, 2014)—NokScoot, Thailand’s newest medium to long-haul budget airline, officially received an approval from the Department of Civil Aviation of Thailand for the Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC) on October 30, 2014.

This announcement means that NokScoot meets all statutory requirements since earlier the company has also been granted Air Transport Service License from Ministry of Transport of Thailand.

The Air Operator’s Certificate received will pave the way for its application for operating permits and slots to its intended international routes.

“Promptly, we will submit an application of Japan’s Foreign Air Carrier Permit to the Japan Civil Aviation Bureau. Traffic flow between Japan and Thailand are growing continuously year by year. We aim to bring the low cost carrier market new value, choices and customised travel experience. We hope to launch our service to serve the demand of passengers as soon as possible,” said Piya Yodmani, NokScoot’s Chief Executive Officer.

The commencement date of commercial operations will be announced when the operating permits and slots are obtained.
