On 1st May 2013, Oliver Lackmann (44) took over the position of Postholder Flight Operations at airberlin. His role means that he is responsible for airberlin flight operations and reports as Vice President to Helmut Himmelreich, Chief Operating Officer at airberlin. Oliver Lackmann succeeds Ralf Nagel, who is leaving the company to pursue new professional opportunities outside the airberlin group.
Oliver Lackmann has been with airberlin since 2001, most recently as Deputy Postholder Flight Operations. As a captain of the Airbus fleet, he was also base captain in Dusseldorf.
