November 23, 2012 – Zurich, Switzerland: SR Technics has secured a contract with Orbest. The Spanish-based airline, which operates charter flights to Europe and the Caribbean, has chosen SR Technics’ Malta facility to carry out two C-Checks on its Airbus A320 aircraft. The first aircraft was inducted in early October 2012, and the second will arrive in Malta in January 2013.
SR Technics’ Malta operation is the company’s Center of Excellence for narrowbody aircraft. Since operations began approximately two years ago the 150-strong team working out of a two-bay hangar has built a solid reputation for fast turnaround times and high levels of reliability and quality standards. The facility holds EASA and FAA approvals, enabling the highly qualified team to support base and heavy maintenance events for airline customers, including end of lease checks on North American registered aircraft.
Antonio Mota, Technical Director at Orbest, comments: “SR Technics has continuously delivered best in class maintenance support to our airline, with respect to on time delivery, quality and reliability standards for our widebody aircraft. Our focus is now turning to the base maintenance requirements for our narrowbody aircraft and SR Technics’ Malta facility seemed a natural choice to place our aircraft and we look forward to working closely with SR Technics in the future.”
André Wall, President of SR Technics, comments: “Orbest has been an existing customer of ours in Zurich, where we have completed C-Checks and Engine overhauls on the airline’s Airbus A330 aircraft. We have built a strong working relationship over the years to support the airline’s operations and we are therefore delighted that Orbest has now entrusted its narrowbody aircraft to our facility in Malta.”
