PEMCO Completes First B737-400 Freighter for Air Incheon

TAMPA, FL (January 23, 2014) – PEMCO World Air Services (PEMCO) announces the redelivery of its first 737-400F Air Incheon aircraft. Redelivered in late 2013, the conversion was completed at PEMCO’s partner and major MRO provider STAECO, based in China.

Located at the world’s largest cargo airport in Seoul, Korea, Air Incheon specializes in air cargo transport of heavy equipment for oil and gas industries between Korea and Russia. The airline focuses on underserved markets such as Russia’s far east (Khabarovsk region), but also flies to China (Qingdao), Japan (Haneda) and Mongolia (Ulan Bator).

The conversion is PEMCO’s first 737-400F for Air Incheon, which selected the PEMCO 737-400 high yield freighter for its best-in-class payload and palletized volume, and because its optimized CG allows Air Incheon to use the entire payload without requiring profit-robbing, fuel-burning trim. Air Incheon’s demanding operating climate was also considered in selecting PEMCO’s 737-400F because of its demonstrated ability to operate reliably in cold, wet climates and high wind conditions.

In fact, PEMCO’s 737-400 freighters are the world’s only ruggedized and weatherized Boeing 737 freighters proven capable of extreme durability and dispatch reliability in the demanding operating climates of Alaska, northern Canada, Iceland and Siberia. As a result PEMCO 737 freighter operators in these environments are able to keep flying while lesser airplanes are grounded. Air Incheon also benefits from PEMCO’s pre-engineered odd-and-oversized cargo capability which allows Air Incheon to transport high value oversized cargo on very short notice – a huge advantage when serving the oil and gas industry.

PEMCO obtained Korean (KCASA) approval as part of the project. PEMCO’s 737-300/400 freighters are approved by more than 20 major regulatory agencies and are owned and operated globally by 45+ customers. JetTran International provided the aircraft for the project.
