Petra Airlines Entrusts A320 Component Support to AFI KLM E&M

Paris, Amstelveen, 14 May 2013 – Jordanian carrier Petra Airlines has signed a contract with AFI KLM E&M covering component support for its two A320s and which should include a third aircraft by the end of this year. The agreement includes flat-rate repair services and flight-hour pool access.

Trust and flexibility
AFI KLM E&M and Petra Airlines began working together on engine maintenance checks in 2011. Satisfied in particular by AFI KLM E&M’s adaptiveness, Petra Airlines has now extended its trust to component support. The young airline, which has recently launched scheduled services, was seeking a strong MRO service provider able to develop solutions suited to its needs. This is exactly what AFI KLM E&M has done by taking Petra Airlines’ specific requirements into account, with tailored invoicing methods.

Further cooperation
Won over by AFI KLM E&M’s adaptability, and by the reputation and the quality of service offered by the MRO group, Petra Airlines also rely on AFI KLM E&M for the dismantling of one of its CFM56-5A engines leading AFI KLM E&M to provide a long-term leasing agreement for a spare engine.

Fabrice Defrance, AFI KLM E&M Senior VP Commercial, said: “We are delighted and honored to win the trust of a young and dynamic airline. In a difficult business climate, we hope to support it effectively and put our relationship on a long-term footing.”

Riad Khashman, Petra Airlines CEO, acknowledged “AFI KLM E&M’s ability to offer us a wide variety of solutions. We explained what our technical and strategic needs were and AFI KLM E&M developed tailored solutions for us. I am certain that their services will guarantee us even higher performance and greater success.”
