TORONTO, Oct. 5, 2011 /CNW/ – Porter Airlines reported a September load factor of 68 per cent, 12.2 points higher than the previous year.
Passenger numbers reached over 212,000, a record for any month.
Figures for the month show 116.1 million Available Seat Miles (ASMs) and 79 million Revenue Passenger Miles (RPMs). ASMs grew 20.4 per cent from 96.4 million and RPMs increased 46.8 per cent from 53.8 million versus last year.
“September is typically a slower month with the transition from summer leisure to fall business travel,” said Robert Deluce, president and CEO of Porter Airlines. “The ability to maintain load factor within one per cent from August is impressive and a good sign as we enter the year’s last quarter.”
