Porter Airlines sets record August load factor of 74.5%

TORONTO, Sept. 6, 2012 /CNW/ – Porter Airlines set records for any month in its history by carrying more than 260,000 passengers with a load factor of 74.5 per cent in August. Passenger numbers increased 23.8 per cent from the previous year.

Figures for the month show 133.1 million Available Seat Miles (ASMs) and 99.1 million Revenue Passenger Miles (RPMs). ASMs grew 12 per cent from 118.8 million and RPMs increased 21.4 per cent from 81.6 million last year.

“This is the best month we’ve had in nearly six years of operating,” said Robert Deluce, president and CEO of Porter Airlines. “It’s a reflection of the strong passenger experience, brand and customer service that Porter is known for.”
